March 30th 1941.
My dear Mrs. Robinson,
I have delayed writing until now, in case you could to come up from Durban to see us once more.
However, I quite understand how very busy you must be, now that you are leaving at an earlier date. I shall see Toni to the train and put her in with Richard.
All Toni's books are packed and her other belongings as far as human frailty can gather them together! It is most difficult to give you any idea what it means to me personally to part with your darling; she has been so special in every way, I cannot remember any child here who has so crept into my heart and snuggled down there, it will be such a lose not to see her happy, quizzical, intent little face looking up to me as I come around the corners or along the passages, always a happy welcoming smile, even the moment after being pulled up for some little fault. The children in the house will be really sad to lose such a straightforward warm-hearted little friend.
I hope Toni will be confirmed quite young, she has spiritual perception and is a child of great desires - she would have made such a companion for the Holy Child - don't be shocked!
I'm sure He loves specially such keen little people - keen in fun and keen in religion too - may the blessed Angels keep her always as lovely as she is today and guard both you and dear Richard too.

Goodbye now, there is no time or space in the eternal things, so we shall meet in out prayer here and in our Home hereafter.
My love and all good wishes.
My love and all good wishes.
Yours affectionately,
Benedicta S.S.J.O
